Elizabeth (“Betty”) was born on July 5, 1928.  She grew up in Point Pleasant, West Virginia with her mother, Marguerite, her father, Charles Edward, and her siblings Katherine, Emmy Lou, Peggy, Jean, Nancy, Polly, and Charles.  In 1946 she started her freshman year at West Virginia University. She joined Pi Beta Phi sorority and met her future husband, Walter Koehler, at a fraternity event.  Betty graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology and shortly thereafter married Walter Koehler on September 16, 1950.

Betty enjoyed her career in medical technology and in 1962 she and Walt had a son, Walter McCulloch and two years later they had a daughter, Carol Ann.  Over the next 14 years Betty and Walt raised their children in Richmond, VA and later moved to Fairfax, VA.  Betty enjoyed playing golf and bridge with her friends.  In 1979 she found a new career in Real Estate at Rucker Realty.  In 1992, Betty and Walt built a retirement home in Dunnellon, Florida to be near her sisters.  She continued her career in Real Estate at Coldwell Banker.  Living next to 5 of her sisters, Betty and Walt enjoyed many family gatherings in Dunnellon.  Betty’s memories will be carried on by her sister, Polly Tanzi, her sister in law Norma McCulloch, her son Walter Koehler and wife (Debbie), her daughter Carol Catalano and husband (Joe), her grandchildren, Lauren, AJ, Chris, and Amanda and her many nieces and nephews.  She will be laid to rest in Dunnellon Memorial Gardens.
