Elizabeth Ann Morro, 85, died on Monday, September 14, 2015 under the care of Legacy Hospice in Ocala, FL. She was the beloved wife to John Morro, Jr., Ocala, FL; mother of Frank R. Sanford, Jr. and his wife Susan, Brick, N.J., Cynthia Davies, Tinton Falls, N.J., Patricia Sanford, Brick, N.J. and Virginia Birdsall and her husband John, Wall, N.J.; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her first husband, Frank R. Sanford and her brother, Robert Lockwood.
She entered this life on October 28, 1929 in Orange, N.J. Elizabeth was the daughter to the late Alfred and Anna (Greer) Lockwood. She moved to Dunnellon in 1990 from Wall, N.J. As many of you know,  Bette  has  been struggling throughout the summer with her COPD. The morning of September 14 our prayers were answered and her suffering ended and her new life began peacefully with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Please Keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Elizabeth “Bette” Ann Lockwood-Sanford-Morro has always been a kind, caring, fun loving tough as nails woman who was a pillar of strength. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dunnellon, the Eastern Star in Union, N.J. the Red Hatters in Ocala and the Road Runners Motorcycle Club in N.J. where she rode a Yamaha 650. Elizabeth enjoyed shooting trap, fishing and playing golf. She was an exceptional mother, loving wife, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many who will be greatly missed and loved.
Memorial Services celebrating Elizabeth's life will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Dunnellon with Rev. Eddie Fulford officiating. She will be interred at a later date in the BG William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, N.J.
Her family requested in lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Elizabeth's memory to Hospice of Marion County: P.O. Box 4860, Ocala, FL 34478.
