Emma June Williams Thomas

Emma June Williams Thomas was born on January 16, 1950, in Clinton, IN, the twelfth child of James Williams and Anna Margaret Rupnick Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: David Lee, Beverly, Lola, Barbara, Carolyn, James, Charles, Ethel, and William. She is survived by her brother, Robert Williams, and her sisters, Mary Lou Hurst and Rose Marie Hulley. Emma married David Lawrence Thomas on June 30, 1967, in Terre Haute, IN. They had two daughters, Glenda Thomas (Travis Burnett) and Bonnie Ferrell (Joseph Ferrell Sr.). After two years of military service, they left the service to train thoroughbreds and quarter horses. Emma later became a supervisor building firetrucks until David's disability required her to become his full-time caretaker. He preceded her in death in June 2008. She was an encouraging and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her grandchildren: Joseph Ferrell Jr., Christiana Monday (Savannah Wilson), David Ferrell (Audrey), Megan Downing (Jacob Vandevender), Jami Downing, Travis Downing (Caitlin), and Christa Froehly (Arthur). She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Ian, Isaac, Emma, Kaydence, Alaynna, Bailee, Taytum, Oliver, Kinsley, Lydia, Evangeline, and Adalynn. We are consoled by the knowledge that Emma accepted Christ as her Savior as a child and received assurance of her salvation at Riverland Baptist Church a few years before her passing.
