Esther Ruth News

Mrs. Esther Ruth News, 96, of Hernando, FL, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021, at the Arbor Trail Rehabilitation Center in Inverness, FL.  Born in Corning, NY, she was a long time resident of Dunnellon, FL.

Mrs. News was a former school secretary in both public and private secondary schools in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania, as well as a small university in Pennsylvania.  While living in Dunnellon, she was an active member of the Dunnellon United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women’s Group, and the Rainbows End Golf Club.

She is survived by her daughter Victoria L. Wright, her sons Gregory Paul Hersh and Jeffrey B. Hersh, and her brother Dr. David Tyler.  She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel News, her daughter Valerie L. Etherton, and her brother Harold H. Ellison.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, January 21, 2022, at First United Methodist Church in Dunnellon, with Pastor Eddie Fulford officiating.
