Fernando L. “Negro” Palmer-Martinez, 87, died on August 6, 2021 at Estelle’s house in Ocala. He was born into this life on April 26, 1934 in Salinas, Puerto Rico and was the son to the late Juan Rafael and Matilde (Martinez) Palmer. Fernando was one of eleven half brothers and sisters from both stepfather and stepmother’s side. Fernando retired with the government of Puerto Rico as a Civil Engineer. He moved to Dunnellon two years ago from Carolina, Puerto Rico. He was a parishioner attending the spanish mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon. Fernando enjoyed gardening, watching and keeping up with world news. When he was younger he was an athlete who played softball and baseball and he loved to dance. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Rafaela Camacho-Palmer.
He is survived by his daughters, Odalys I. Palmer, Amarilis Lloyd (Ron) and Hedda Palmer (Nelson) all of Dunnellon; his grandchildren, Nicole, Christian, Michael, Giovanni and great granddaughter, Leahni.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 10:30 am with Inurnment to follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at 1:30 PM.
