Florence (Mayes) Mullins

Florence Mayes Mullins, age 80, of Dunnellon, FL, passed away on September 14, 2016 at the Legacy Hospice House in Ocala, FL. She was born on January 28, 1936 in Brethet County Kentucky, daughter of Clarence and Polly Mayes. Florence moved to Dunnellon, FL from Los Angeles, CA in 1968 and resided in Dunnellon until her passing. Florence was of the Baptist faith. She was a devoted homemaker; she enjoyed gardening, traveling and loved spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Marvin Mullins Sr., on September 27, 2008; daughter, Sherryn Robbins, on November 17, 2014; and her brothers Clarence Mayes Jr. and Jackie Mayes . Florence is survived by her son Marvin Mullins II (Terri) of Crystal River, FL; sisters Edith Middleton (Milford) of Middletown, OH, Lois Eichhorn of Eaton, OH, Judy Thompson (Walter) of Middletown, OH, andYvonne Mayes of Middletown, OH; and brother Bill Mayes (Julie) of Middletown, OH. She also leaves her grandchildren: Marvin “Trace” Mullins III (Jenna), Amanda Joplin (Matthew), Matthew Mullins (Corrienne), Jennifer Robbins (Josh Brown), and great-grandson Mattson Joplin.

The visitation will be held on Monday, September 19, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel of ROBERTS FUNERAL HOME, 19939 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Dunnellon. The funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Reverends Taylor Robertson and Matthew Mullins officiating. Burial will follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens.
