Francisca Malave-Vazquez, a gentle loving soul, 95, died peacefully with her daughter, Esther Torres and Mildred Rodriguez holding her hand on Monday, shortly before the afternoon hours of June 19, 2023 at her daughters home in Dunnellon. She was born on June 11, 1928 in Morovis, Puerto Rico and was the daughter to the late Carmelo Malave and Petrona Vazquez-Barreto. When Francisca was a teenager she moved from Puerto Rico to the Bronx, NY where she spent most of her life raising her ten children with her late husband, James Ruiz. While in the Bronx, Francisca was very active with St. Anselm Catholic Church choir where all of her children were baptized and confirmed. Following the death of her husband, Francisca moved back to Morovis and met her other late husband, Vincente and enjoyed twenty five years of marriage before his passing. In 2006, Francisca moved to Florida to be closer to her children and lived with her daughter, Esther Torres. She loved to read books on her faith, singing church songs, cooking and spending time with her family. Francisca was a holy lady who cherished her faith relationship with Jesus. When her kids were younger, she would pray the rosary everyday with them setting the example and forming their prayer life. Francisca lived her life to fullest and was blessed trusting in Jesus to live as long as she did. We will miss her, but with blessed assurance, we will see her again in the glorious kingdom of God.
