Frederick Ross Ashmead Iii

Frederick Ross Ashmead III, 86 of Dunnellon, died Tuesday (12/10/2013) at Timber Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitative Services in Ocala. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Frederick Ross Jr and Helen (Shute) Ashmead.

Mr. Ashmead was Energy Supervisor for the Pinellas County School System for twenty years, retiring in 1993. He was also State Fire Marshall. In his retirement he and Betty loved to travel in their RV motor home and were hosts at several State Parks. He also delivered firetrucks for E-One around the country and Canada.

Surviving family includes his wife of forty years Betty (Snapp) Ashmead; kids Fred IV, Karen Frye, Jeff (Maly); step daughter Sherri Woodstuff (John); seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and sister Irene (Stan) Buch of Lancaster, PA.

A Memorial Funeral Service, celebrating the life of Frederick Ross Ashmead III, will be conducted on Thursday (12/19/2013) 1:00 PM at the Dunnellon First United Methodist Church, 21501 West Highway 40, Dunnellon, FL 34431-6322 (352-489-4026) with Pastor Eddie Fulford officiating.

The family prefers, if you wish, memorial donations to the Dunnellon First United Methodist Church Building Fund, in Memory of Frederick Ross Ashmead III.
