Gail Katherine Henry

Gail Katherine Henry (86) of Lady Lake FL, joined God's loving embrace on August 22, 2026.

She was born on January 10, 1940 to Thorton and Ethyl Rogers and was raised along with her sisters in the south side of Chicago, IL.

Gail is preceded in death by her loving husband Terry Dean Henry (high school sweetheart), her youngest daughter Jennifer Ann Henry, her sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Jerry Fladung. Gail is survived by her oldest daughter Jana Henry, son-in-law Bobby Harris, grandson Max Henry, sister Connie Gunderson, brother-in-law Fred Gunderson and their children Chris and Brandi.

Gail moved to Bemidji, MN as a teenager and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1958. It was there that she met the love of her life Terry Henry. She went on to attend and graduate from Bemidji State University in 1962 with a degree in Elementary Education. Gail was extremely proud and honored to be named BSU Homecoming Queen, Campus Cover Girl and Miss Bemidji.

Gail and Terry settled in Duluth, MN where they raised their daughters Jana and Jennifer. Gail's early hobbies included snow skiing, playing cards, water skiing and board games. Gail's grandfather homesteaded Shotley, MN in 1910, with her parents building, owning and operating Rogers Campground on Upper Red Lake, MN. The Campground built many years later is still located on the same site as the original town of Shotley. Gail was an incredibly gifted Title 1 Elementary Teacher with many accolades and thousands of students' lives impacted over a 33-year career in the Duluth School System. After retirement, she and Terry moved to Bella Vista, AR. This vibrant retirement community in The Ozarks afforded them great friendships, sports, activities and relaxation.

In 2004, Gail and Terry packed up and moved to The Villages, FL to be near family and enjoy warmer weather.

They belonged to North Lake Presbyterian Church and served in various ministry capacities.

She especially enjoyed Healing ministry, Prison ministry and Stephen Ministry.

Her retirement hobbies included reading, knitting and dancing at the town squares with her husband.

She loved her two daughters dearly and enjoyed hosting them for years at her Villages home for fun-filled family holiday events. In particular, she was extremely proud of her grandson, Max Henry. She called him, "Marvelous Magnificent Max as she and Terry would host him for Camp Villages activities, SeaWorld and Disney Trips. Gail and Terry took great pride in building Max into the fine young man he is today. She would especially want to thank her daughter Jana Henry and her husband for moving to live with her as her health declined in her early 80's. Gail later resided at Harbor Chase Retirement Community ( now The Ashton) in Lady Lake, FL.

She enjoyed her many friends at The Ashton and was so appreciative to the employee team that supported her.

Gail especially enjoyed the weekly bible study visits by her Stephen Minister friend Carolyn who always brought smiles

and kindness to each devotion lesson. Gail also enjoyed bingo, painting, game nights, singing entertainment and of course delicious desserts after each meal!

Gail's life was dedicated to her loving family, helping others and financially supporting varied ministries across the globe. She taught many children to read and had a gift in the healing and prayer ministries through church. Though Gail's chapter here has ended, her story will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. Gail is resting safely in God’s loving embrace; her soul is home.
