George Robert Duley

June 18, 1926 — August 12, 2017

Mr. George Robert Duley, 91, of Dunnellon, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017.  A native of Kentucky, he and his family moved to Ocala in 1962, coming here from Lexington, KY.  George retired as a Senior Field Engineer for Burroughs Corporation.  He was a 33 degree Mason, the Past Master of the Friendship Masonic Lodge #53, a member of the Ocala Scottish Rite Bodies, the Ocala Shrine Club, Past President of the Ocala Men’s Golf Association, a member of the Ocala Golf Club, and the First United Methodist Church of Dunnellon.  He proudly served his country in the Pacific Theater during WWII aboard the destroyer tender USS Dixie.

Survivors include his four sons, Rev. George Thomas Duley, Robert Adney Duley, John Edward Duley, and James William Duley.  He has 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.  He was prededed in death by his wife Mary Sue Duley and his granddaughter Christie Leigh Duley.

Visitation for Mr. Duley will be from 5-7 on Monday, August 14, 2017, at Roberts Funeral Home, 19939 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Dunnellon.
