Gertrude "Trudy" Arthur

Dunnellon- Gertrude “Trudy” L. Arthur, 86, died on March 10, 2018 at Shand’s at UF. Trudy was born and raised in Medford, MA graduating from Medford High School. She was the daughter to the late William and Irene(Neil)Lyons. Trudy moved to Dunnellon in 1971 from Deltona, FL. While in Deltona she worked for McCaughn Mortgage Company on Patrick Air Force Base for many years. When Trudy moved to Dunnellon to retire she had more time on her hands to enjoy making ceramics, attending craft shows, antiquing, square dancing at the Rainbow Ranch in Sanford and singing with her late husband, Charles Jerry Arthur as he played guitar. Despite all her hardships she had in life, she always had a smile on her face and trusted God will handle the rest. Trudy  was a women of character that loved her family dearly. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. Her family would like to extend their deepest appreciation and gratitude to the staff on the eleventh floor Intensive Care Unit in Shand’s at UF for their loving care to their mother.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jerry Arthur and her brother William Lyons.

She is survived by her sons, Kenneth “Kenny” Arthur (Julie), Dunnellon, Charles “Wayne” Arthur (Joyce A.), Ocala; her sisters, Kay Holden,MA Ethel Haskell, CA and Margie Orender, MA; her grandchildren, James Charles Arthur, Katie Marie Stitchter, Wayland Charles Arthur, Ava Irene Arthur and her great grandchild, Kaylie Grace Stitchter.

Memorial Services celebrating Trudy’s life will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Roberts Funeral Home in Dunnellon. She will be laid to rest at Deltona Memorial Gardens in Deltona, FL following memorial services.
