Glenn Duane Thurston

Glenn Duane Thurston, 56 of Citrus Springs Florida passed away Saturday August the 28th, 2021 at Ocala Regional Hospital after a nine month battle with cancer. Glenn was born on September 22nd, 1964 to Roger Allen Thurston and Dawn Kathleen Thurston Cochran. He was born at Homestead Air Force Base. Miami Florida, Blueridge Georgia, Charleston South Carolina, Evergreen Colorado, and Citrus Springs Florida were his life residencies. He worked with heavy machinery and was a veteran of the US Army.

Glenn was proceeded in death by his maternal grandparents Ruby and Charles Cochran and paternal grandparents Ida and Harvey Christiansen and Ellsworth Thurston, his parents Roger and Dawn Thurston and brother Rodney Thurston. Also preceeding his death, was his uncle Jerry, aunt Shirley, uncle Buck, aunt Ethel, uncle Lou, cousin Julie Larsen and cousin Kayla Potts.

Glenn left behind his sister and brother in law Charlene and John Ciminero, his nieces Amber (Junior Mojica) and Tiffani Ciminero, Michelle Dodd (Travis Dodd and kids), and nephew Michael Ciminero. Also leaving behind his great nephew Caiden and niece Abagail Cochran, cousins Charles and Jessica Cochran, Stanley Jr. and Layla Cochran, uncle Stanley and aunt Alina, aunt Mary and uncle Ken, aunt Ann, his many cousins and beloved cat Midnight.

Glenn was a genuine, quiet, easy going guy that loved his family and friends dearly. He lived a simple life … that’s what he liked. Camping, sitting around a bon fire and bar-b-queing were his favorite past times. He will be missed by all who knew him.
