Harry Macleod, Jr.

Harry MacLeod Jr., 79, longtime resident of Portsmouth NH, passed away peacefully at his home on January 18, 2018 in Leesburg, Florida from heart failure.

Born in Bellows Falls, Vermont on May 30, 1938. He’s a graduate of Portsmouth High School 1956 then continued on to receive a Bachelor’s of Business Management Degree from the University of New Hampshire 1960.

Harry is survived by his wife Claudette of almost 55 years, his three children, Colleen Montminy[NM1] , husband Stanley, Neil J. MacLeod wife Marjorie, Deborah Moore husband Joseph, as well as his 6 loving grandchildren Kate, Morgan, Ayden, Casey, Maxwell, Jackson, and his brother Kevin.

A local business man and active member of the community, Harry served as a longtime board member for the Portsmouth School Board, Indian Head Bank and Rotary International. He was a recipient of the Rotary Paul Harris Award and United Way Richard Lockhart Award in acknowledgment of his efforts. Harry will be remembered for generosity and his efforts to shape the legacy of Yoken’s Restaurant. He continued volunteer work even after retiring in 1993 with Habitat for Humanity and Marion Therapeutic Riding Association. Harry was an avid woodworker and story teller.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on January 24, 2018 at Roberts Funeral Home, 19939 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Dunnellon. A post service social will be held at Nature Coast Unitarian Universalist, Dunnellon Florida.
