Helen Mary (Sharer) Widman

Dunnellon

Mrs. Helen Mary Widman, 79, of Dunnellon, passed away suddenly while visiting family in Georgia. A native of New York, she and her husband Barry moved to the Dunnellon area in 2008, moving here from Clifton Park, New York.  For many years Mrs. Widman worked as an executive secretary for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.  She also worked as a special needs middle school teacher.  Her hobbies included tennis, water aerobics, vacationing on Sanibel Island, visiting her grandchildren, and attending Bible Study Fellowship.  She attended First Baptist Church of Dunnellon. Mrs. Widman’s survivors include her husband of 50 years, Barry, her son John P. Widman, Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, her daughter Colleen P. Zloty, Tampa, Florida, and her 5 grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her son Daniel Mark and her daughter Lisa Marie. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at First Baptist Church of Dunnellon, 20831 Powell Rd, Dunnellon, with Pastor Russ Randall officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM until service time.  Interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida at 10 AM Friday, April16, 2021.
