Henry David "Hank" Lapp, 74, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026. Born on April 19, 1952, in East Meadow, New York, Henry was adopted shortly after birth by his loving parents, Margaret and Harold Lapp, who raised him with unwavering love and support. He shared a very close bond from the beginning with his sister, Janet Baldwin (Lapp), and held a deep love for all of his extended family throughout his life.
Henry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend whose kindness and generosity touched countless lives. He shared a loving marriage with his wife, Dianna Lapp, whom he married in 1999. Together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and service to others.
He is survived by his daughter, Vivienna Cassidy (formerly Lapp), and her husband, Adam Cassidy; and by his beloved grandchildren, Karissa Johnson (Lapp), Amaya Cassidy, and Kayson Cassidy. His family was the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He was also a cherished uncle and cousin who maintained close relationships with his extended family and was always ready to share a story, a laugh, or a helping hand.
Henry spent many years as a shellfisher and commercial fisherman on the Great South Bay of Long Island, New York. The water was not only his livelihood but also one of his greatest passions. Later in life, he found joy in sharing his love of fishing with his grandchildren, creating treasured memories and traditions that will be carried on for generations.
When he wasn’t fishing, Henry could often be found in his workshop, where he enjoyed woodworking and crafting beautiful bowls by hand. His creativity, patience, and craftsmanship reflected the care he put into everything he did.
A man of deep faith, Henry dedicated much of his time to serving others through El-Shaddai Food Ministries. He faithfully volunteered each week, helping unload freezers, organize supplies, and lend a hand wherever it was needed. His servant’s heart and willingness to help anyone in need left a lasting impact on his community.
Above all, Henry was a man filled with love. He welcomed others with kindness, treated people with compassion, and maintained a close and steadfast relationship with God throughout his life. His faith guided him, his family sustained him, and his love enriched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of faith, service, generosity, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
His services will be held on June 27th at Crystal River Church of God, with visitation at 12:30 p.m. followed by a celebration of life at 1:00 p.m.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
