Henry Woodward “Woody” Ulm, 92, died on Friday, February 13, 2015 at West Marion Community Hospital in Ocala. He was born into this life on September 4, 1922 to the late Jessie A. and Hattie May Chapman in Ty Ty, Georgia.
Woody moved to Dunnellon in 1947 from High Springs, FL. He was a WWII Veteran of the US Navy Seabees serving in the south pacific. He grew up in Tarpon Springs later moving to Live Oak. Woody was a Texaco Bulk Fuel Distributor having owned the gas station in front of the Dinner Bell in Dunnellon. He also worked 15 yrs. at Salmon Wholesale Nursery in Dunnellon and was a member of the American Legion Post#58 in Dunnellon. Woody was a devoted Christian who attended First Baptist Church in Dunnellon for over 66yrs. He was just a kind soul who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his wife Margaret, his son, Larry Woodward Ulm, his sister, Lillian F. Ulm and brother, Murray B. Ulm.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 7 years, Frances Ulm, Dunnellon; his daughter, A. Paige Gass (Greg); his sister, Nelle Wade, Lake City; his grandchildren, Larry Scott Ulm (Terre) and Adam Judd Ulm; his great grandchildren, Jason Scott Ulm, Rebekah Lynn Ulm; great great Greyson Taylor Ulm and Haley Gass. “We Love You and We Will Miss You Until We Meet Again”
Woody's life will be celebrated on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Dunnellon. His family will be receiving friends one hour prior to service time. Inurnment of his cremated remains will follow services at Dunnellon Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
