Hilton "Sonny" Chesterfield

Hilton Forrest (Sonny) Chesterfield went to live with his Lord on December 23, 2011. He was born in Terre Haute Indiana on March 7, 1936 to William (Bill) and Virginia (Diddy) Chesterfield. He came to Dunnellon in 1945 and was a resident until he joined the Marine Corps in 1953. He served in the Marine Corps for 22 and a half years serving in Vietnam. He then served with the St. John’s County Sheriff Dept. in Corrections until he retired in 1993. He returned to Dunnellon in 2000 and worked at Wal-Mart as a greeter for 4 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dunnellon, FL.  He leaves his family and many friends and associates.
He is survived by his wife Sally, children Hilton (Jeanne) Chesterfield of San Antonio, TX Patty (Duwayne) Styles of Ocala, FL Penny (Scott) Spence of Inglis, FL Jessie Chesterfield of Dunnellon, FL and Brittani Chesterfield of Dunnellon, FL ; 2 Brothers William (Butch) (Diane) Chesterfield of Tijeras NM and Kenneth Chesterfield of Dunnellon, FL. HE leaves 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother and his sister Peggy Chesterfield Denny. He was respected and loved by many people in his life and will be missed by all.
Visitation is Tuesday 5:00-7:00 pm at Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon.  The funeral service is Wednesday December 28, 2011 at 11:00 am at The First United Methodist Church of Dunnellon Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery. Condolences may be left at RobertsofDunnellon.com
