Brooks, Jack age 79 passed away on February 14, 2011 at Ocala Regional Hospital due to complications from open heart surgery. Jack was a US Army veteran and a retired anesthetist. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed doing things for other people. He is survived by his wife of 18 years Phyllis Brooks; children Deborah (Roy) Revels, Katherine (Gary) Carr-Moore, David W. (Angie) Brooks and Jack J. Brooks; Stepfather of Billy (Debbie) Langford, Melanie (Hugh) Harrison, Garry (Litha) Langford, Betty (Talley) Hall and Son in Law Steve Summerall. Jack was blessed with 22 Grandchildren and numerous Great Grandchildren. He is also the brother of Harold Brooks, Herman Brooks, Faye Garcia, Lucy Hartwein and Betty Osteen. Visitation will be Thursday 5-8 pm with services on Friday 3 pm at Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon with Pastor Dave Swinyar presiding. Interment will follow at Dunnellon Memorial Gardens.
