US Navy Chief Petty Officer James C. Champion, 91, died on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at his residence in Ocala, FL. He was the son of the late James Lee and Susie (Christian) Champion.
James was born December 10, 1921 in Lafayette, Alabama. He moved to Ocala twenty three years ago from Manassas, Virginia. He was employed for twenty one years with Communications Defense Agency in Arlington, Virginia. He served our country proudly in the US Navy as a medic.
He is survived by his wife of fifty four years, Janet J. Champion, Ocala, FL; his daughter, Leslie Hudson and her husband, Greg; his two grandchildren, Kyle and Colleen.
His family has requested no services to be held at this time. Mr. Champion will be interred at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
