James Reid Meredith

James Reid Meredith, 69, passed away in Cate’s Hospice House on December 2, 2023 after an extended fight with cancer. He was born on November 1, 1954 in Brooksville, Florida. He was the son of Herbert W. Meredith and the late Helen Reid Meredith both of Dunnellon. James was a lifelong resident of Dunnellon and a member of Dunnellon First Baptist Church. He was a fourth generation Floridian and was an honor graduate of the graduating class of 1973 Dunnellon High School. He attended Central Florida Community College in Ocala. He was an IBEW union electrician. James and his wife Dawn later owned and operated Citrus Auto Parts and Salvage in Hernando, Florida.

He is survived by his wife Dawn E. (McDowell) Meredith, his father Herbert W. Meredith, brother Keith W. Meredith (Luretta), 1st cousins Frank Meredith and Carrol Meredith, all of Dunnellon. He leaves behind a step son Michael McDowell Bartlett step grandchildren Mikey and Madelynne (James St.John) and a step great grandson Joseph St.John.

Viewing will be at Roberts Funeral Home in Dunnellon on Friday December 8 from 5PM to 7PM. Services for Mr. Meredith will be held at the Dunnellon First Baptist Church, Saturday December 9 at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in Fellowship Florida.
