James Elton "Pete" Peterson

PETERSON, James Elton “Pete” 92 of Lakeland, Florida passed away Friday October 17, 2014 the morning after his birthday. He was born on October 16, 1922 in Tampa, Florida to Jesse and Ethel Peterson. Pete was  a World War II Veteran,  worked for General Foods and Bay Distributors and was a founding member of The Tampa Trident Skin Diving Club, an avid outdoorsman and loved telling stories and jokes, which he was doing right up until the end.  He is preceded by his son James Gary Peterson and survived by his wife Joanne Peterson of Lakeland, son Keith Lee Peterson, wife Kathy, daughter Sharon Peterson Singer, grandsons Jesse and Chad Peterson, granddaughter Michelle Peterson, stepchildren John Thompson and Ann Peters, great grandsons Zachary and Jayden Peterson, great granddaughter Alanis Peterson, cousins Joe (Hilda) Winterle and Irene “Sis” Yerger of Tallahassee. Private family services will be held at the Florida National Cemetery.
