He was born in Benson, North Carolina and was the son to the late David Archie and Naomi (Pope) Wood. He moved to Dunnellon in 1961 to care for his parents. In 1965 he opened up Wood’s Barber Shop and moved to his current location in 1974 by Ace Hardware. He was a member of the Inglis Masonic Lodge# 324 which has now merged with the Dunnellon Masonic Lodge #136. Ray and his wife were attending the Crystal River Church of Christ. His pastime hobbies included fishing and golfing. At the end of his life he couldn’t get around much anymore, but he did enjoy watching sports on television. Ray, we miss you and we love you until we meet again.
