Janet 'Peggy' Jamison (nee Hilton)- Robbinsville, NC, 88, died Saturday October 20, 2012 in Ocala, Florida after a sudden illness. She was born on July 20, 1924 and raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She married Rob Roy Jamison in September 1942 before he went overseas to serve in the Air Force. She worked for RCA in Lancaster and moved to Daytona Beach in 1963. She worked for General Electric as an assembly line inspector and helped NASA make materials that put a man on the moon in 1969. She was a vivacious and happy person who made friends easily. She moved to Robbinsville, NC after retiring from GE. Her interests were gardening and wild birds that lived in the area. She had been residing in Rainbow Springs for the past year to be near her son, Greg and daughter in law Linda.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Harry Hilton Jr (her twin) Atlanta, GA and Cliff Hilton of Barnstable, MA, as well as her granddaughter Heather Jamison of Gainesville, FL.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years Rob Roy Jamison, 2 sons – Rob Roy Jamison II, of Havana, FL and Greg Jamison (Linda) of Dunnellon, FL; her grandson Dr. Tyler Jamison, of Jacksonville, FL; and 3 great grandchildren in Jacksonville, FL, Benjamin Tyler Jamison, Jacquelyn Swindell, and Andrea Young.
