Jeffrey "Jeff" Strong

Mr. Jeffrey “Jeff” Strong, 66, of Dunnellon, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida.

Born in Tipp City, Ohio, Jeff graduated high school there, then immediately went into the United States Air Force, where he served for 12 years.  After completing his military service, he enrolled in St. Leo University, where he earned both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree.  Jeff worked for many years as a Deputy Sheriff with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.  After retirement from the Sherriff’s Office, he and his wife moved to Dunnellon, FL, where he gained a “second family” as an employee of Winn Dixie.

Jeff came to love Dunnellon, especially the Rainbow River, where he spent many hours kayaking.  He was known to many as someone who really enjoyed helping others, a carryover from his days in law enforcement.  One of the things that Jeff was most passionate about was his love for the Florida State Seminoles.

Survivors include his wife Terri, his two daughters Jennifer Quire and Jessica McCord, his four grandchildren Hannah, Charles, Emily, and Marti, and his beloved 17 year old cat Bear!

Due to the pandemic and travel restrictions, no services are planned at this time.  For those who wish to honor Jeff’s life in some way, contributions may be made to the Marion County Humane Society in his memory.
