Jerry “Poppi” Meyn, died on September 3, 2014 in Ocala, FL. He was the beloved husband to Melanie who was the love of his life and his world, but somehow he found time for so much more. He exercised his wit in all areas of life, research and writing letters to the editor, cooking and creating recipes, exploring new places, especially on long road trips. His passion and zest for life was evident in his love of music, his penchant for film, and his appreciation of art.
Beyond all that, he extended himself to Dunnellon Food For Kids for which we are so proud (even more so than him), and we are happy his legacy will live on. He will forever be remembered for so many things but especially as “Poppi”.
Poppi is survived by his wife, Melanie Meyn of Dunnellon, daughter, Traci Green of Denver, CO, son, Eric Meyn of Long Island, NY, daughter, Kristen Heuman of Long Island, NY, brother, Alfred Meyn of Queens, NY, sister, Elizabeth Cox of Queens, NY, and eight grandchildren. Memorial contributions can be made in Jerry’s memory to: Dunnellon Food-4-Kids, Inc., PO Box 262, Dunnellon, FL 34430-0262.
