Jessie Shiver

Jessie A. Shiver 96, of Ocala and formerly of Romeo died on December 7, 2018 at her residence in Ocala under the care of Kindred Hospice with her family by her side. Jessie was born on August 24, 1922 in Miami, FL.  and was the daughter to the late William W. Shelton and Edith M. (Hill) Shelton. Jessie leaves behind her son, Raymond S. Shiver; her daughters, Jean A. Luther(Joe), Barbara Little(Jimmie), Terri L. Barber(Allen) and Jeanette S. Morrison(Joe); her fourteen grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty- nine years, Herman “Boots” Shiver, her son Buford Allen Shiver, her grandson, Allen Reyna, and her great grandson, Roland Nelson, her three sisters and one brother.  Jessie lived in Romeo since 1954 and moved to Ocala in 1994. She was of Baptist faith who loved her Lord and Savior and now will be able to meet him and all her family who preceded her in death in that glorious city of Heaven. She truly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Jessie was very artistic and loved to read and play games, especially Rummikub. As a homemaker she made sure her home and family were taken care of.  She lived life to the fullest and was very blessed to have lived so many years and see four generations of her family. We Love you Mom and Grandma and we will Miss you until we meet again.

There will be a Memorial Visitation on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 10-11 AM at the Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon. Memorial Services celebrating Jessie will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home chapel. She will be laid to rest beside her late husband at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
