Joanna “Joey” Weisbaum, 62, entered eternal life on Friday, October 9, 2015 surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her nieces, Katie Fasulo and Val Bond, Staten Island, NY; her great friend and “Me Maw”, Grace Burks, Dunnellon. She is preceded in death by her brother, Louis Frank Fasulo.
Joey was born into this life on June 28, 1953 to the late Francis and Pureina (Bergamasco) Fasulo in Brooklyn, NY. She moved to Dunnellon from Ft. Lauderdale in 1991. She was a retired Registered Nurse, working in Hospice in Marion County. She was a devout and active member of the First United Methodist Church in Dunnellon where she helped develop many mission circles, such as Michelle-O-Gram, Angels Circle, and Klowns for Christ in which her name was “Funny Bones”, just to name a few. She loved to praise and sing to our Lord as part of the praise and worship team. She also volunteered with the Vacation Bible School at her church, the American Cancer Society and the Dunnellon Fire Department Auxillary. Joey's accomplishments exemplified her life in Christ. She will be dearly missed by all who had the opportunity to laugh and share with her and to love her in many ways as family and friends. We love and we will miss you until we meet again.
Memorial Services celebrating Joey's life will be held Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Dunnellon with Rev. Eddie Fulford officiating.
