Joellyn D. (Trefethen) Cote

Joellyn Downing Trefethen Cote, 70, of Dunnellon, Fla., died  Saturday, Feb. 11, at home after a courageous battle with cancer.   She was born Nov. 9, 1941, in Exeter, N.H., to the late Harold and Olive Trefethen.

Joellyn grew up in New Hampshire where she raised her family and lived life to the fullest. During her working years, she made shoes and car parts, managed a convenience store, and helped run a family construction business.  After moving from Epping, N.H., to Florida in 1981, she and her husband built a successful crafts business.  She enjoyed playing slot machines, watching Elvis performances and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert Cote; daughters Lois Brauckmuller (Bill), Brenda Noller ( Mike) and Dianne Deonath, all of Dunnellon; grandchildren Chris Brauckmuller (fiancé, Kelly Popielinski), Jamie Brauckmuller, Amanda Schaffer (Mike), Cote Deonath and Jade Deonath; sisters Priscilla Driver, Judith Jean and Rae Reed; brothers Ashley Trefethen, Kris Trefethen, Tim Trefethen and Mercer Trefethen; and numerous extended family members.

She was predeceased by brothers Marvin Trefethen, Gary Sullivan, David Sullivan and Roland Trefethen; and sisters Lois St. John, Janet Parenteau and Kristen Pratt.

A memorial service will be held at Roberts Funeral Home, 19939 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Dunnellon at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County.
