John T. Bunting Jr.

John T. Bunting Jr., 62, of Dunnellon, died Sunday (9/22) at Woodland Terrace. He was born November 2, 1950 in New Britain, Connecticut to the late John T. Sr. and Hanna Burke Bunting.

Mr. Bunting came from a poor family where he was the middle of three child. John was married three times and was always very close to his family. He liked to travel cross country and loved the CB and two way radios. Mr. Bunting was a New York Cab driver for thirty years and also went to school for auto mechanics and forestry, becoming a forest ranger in California for four years.

Diagnosed with COPD, Parkinsons and epilepsy about thirty five years ago, John got closer to God after going to Woodland Terrace skilled Nursing Facility. John alwaysd liked to make people laugh.

Mr. Bunting died under the care of Woodland Terrace and Hospice of Citrus County and will be buried next to his late wife, Susan, at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Ocala.

John was preceded in death by his wife Susan Bunting (3/2011); parents; and brother Lance Corporal Bobby Bitner (Viet Nam). Surviving family includes three children daughter Cheryl Bunting; step daughter Kathy Chastine; and step son Steven Chastine; granddaughter Gloria Ana (Cheryl Bunting); sister Judy Lashua; sister in law Sandy Pilling; brother in law Dana Pillings; and a nephew Phillip D'Petrio.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Roberts Funeral Home, 19939 East Pennsylvania Avenue, Dunnellon (352-489-2429).
