John Magursky

Mr. John Magursky, 94, of Dunnellon, FL, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022, at his residence.  Born in N. Braddock, PA, he moved to Miami, FL in 1949, where he met and married Doris Nash in 1951.  They then moved to Hialeah, FL, where they lived for more than 40 years.  John was a professional plumber, and a loyal member of the Plumbers Local 519 for 65 years.  After retiring, they moved to Dunnellon, FL in 1994.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army in the Field Artillery Battalion.

After moving to Dunnellon, John and his wife Doris continued to stay active by volunteering with many charities, including the Dunnellon Historical Society, the Chamber of Commerce, and various schools.  He became a member of the American Legion, and was also an avid hunter and fisherman.  He loved working in his yard and spent most his time there.

His survivors include his wife of 70 years, Doris Nash Magursky, his son Captain John Magursky (Mari), his daughter Holly Magursky Capps, his granddaughter Jillian C. Capps, and his brother Wesley Magursky (Carolyn). He was preceded in death by his 3 children, John Roy Magursky, Cindy Sue Magursky, and Steven Jay Magursky, his parents, and his 4 siblings.

Military funeral services for Mr. Magursky will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Hospice of Marion County.
