John S. Mcconnell Iii

John S. McConnell III, 76, of Dunnellon, passed away on Wednesday, November 06, 2024. After high school he entered the Funeral Service Business and became a Licensed Funeral Director. He has lived and worked all over FL doing what he loved. When he had free time, he volunteered with the Marion County Fire Rescue department.  Later in life he was an over the road truck driver which allowed him to travel the country.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Susan A. McConnell. Survivors include his children Jennifer Leonard, John S. McConnell IV, and Jessica Stewart, his 5 grandchildren, Brandy Carver-Smithey, Jeffery Leonard, David Leonard, Jr., Caydence Stewart, and Nolan Stewart, and his 6 great grandchildren William Carver, Alexis Smithey, Jamie Smithey, Landon Carver-Smithey, Adeline Leonard, and Asher Leonard.

Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, November 15, at Dunnellon Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Eddie Fulford officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County.
