John David Mergler Sr.

Mr. John D. Mergler, Sr., 90,  of Ocala, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015 in Ocala.
A native of Baltimore, MD, he moved to this area in 1985, coming here from Lilburn, GA.  His favorite activities were bowling, golf, billiards, and playing cards.  Until his declining health slowed him down, he was an active member of Joy Lutheran Church in Ocala.  Mr. Mergler proudly served his country in WWII in the US Army.

He is survived by his son, John D. Mergler, Jr. and his wife Jean of Carrollton, GA, and numerous nieces and nephews of Maryland and Pennsylvania.  He was preceded in death by his wife Sylvia H. Mergler.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, August 20, 2015, at Joy Lutheran Church, with Pastor Ed Holloway officiating.  His remains will be inurned with his wife at Florida National Cemetery.
