John J. Mihok, 81, of Beverly Hills, FL went to be with the Lord on January 5, 2013. He was born in James City, Elk County Pennsylvania and lived in Vestal, NY, before moving to Beverly Hills. He retired in 1987 after a thirty six year career with IBM, Federal Systems Division. While at IBM, he held a number of program and development management positions working in conjuction with the Department of Defense and NASA agencies. A combat naval aviator he proudly served our country with missions in the Korean War while assigned to an night attack squadron aboard the USS Oriskany. John enjoyed Christian studies and reading his bible. He is a believer in Christ Jesus as his Lord and Savior. His desire is that all might have salvation.
Preceding him in death is his wife of forty six years, Geraldine (Bednar) Mihok in 1999; his sisters, Susan Kaye, Elsie Matyas and brother Frank Mihok.
Surviving him are his wife Joan Davidson-Mihok, Beverly Hills, FL; his sons, David Mihok, Raleigh, NC, Daniel and his wife Kelly of Mesa, AZ; his daughter and son in law, Dr. Anthony and Linda Frey of Salisbury, MD; his sisters and brothers in law, Irene and Charles Putrino of Endwell, NY, Shirley and Thomas Harvilla of Binghamton, NY; sister in law, Beverly Mihok of Binghamton, NY; his step-children, Dorie and Brad Davidson; his eight loving grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
John’s family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 10:00AM-12:00PM at Roberts Funeral Home, Dunnellon. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00PM at the First United Methodist Church, 21501 West Hwy 40, Dunnellon, FL with Pastor Eddie Fulford officiating. Military Honors will performed by the VFW Post# 7122 of Floral City. A luncheon will be held in the church hall following services. Burial will be private at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell .
