OBITUARY JACK (JOHN) R. BOSEN
Jack (John) R. Bosen born July 3, 1935 in Columbus, Ohio to William and Joan, whom both predeceased him. His brother Herbert A. also predeceased him.
Confirmed in the Lutheran Faith, Missouri synod at St. Johns Church, West Jefferson, Ohio.
He was survived by wife of 55 years, Marjorie Bosen. Four sons, Kenneth E., wife Patricia, grandsons Adam and Eric of Ballston Spa, NY: Kevin J., wife Cynthia, grandchildren Jamie, Tanya and Thor of Fredericksburg, VA: Peter W., wife Carmen, grand children Ethan H. and Kate T. of Richmond Hill, GA. and David J. Bosen of Aberdeen, MD. He is also survived by his sister Mrs. Anna George of Thornport, Ohio.
He attended West High school in Columbus and graduated from Thornville High school in Perry County.
A four year US Navy Seabee veteran during the end of the Korean War during which time he rose to first class petty office (BU1) with Builder designation. He served with Mobile Construction Battalion Five in Subic Bay, Philippines, Adak and Kodiak, Alaska.
Attended Ohio State University while working full time and raising a family with the GI bill where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Marketing to become fellow alumni with Marjorie.
He was employed as a Construction equipment territory salesman, retail store manager and sales manager of two districts with the International Harvester Company on the east coast. He worked as reach forklift specialist territory sales manager for JCB, Inc. in the New York City markets. He was also self employed operating a small specialty construction company for 10 years until his retirement.
Marjorie and Jack have lived their adult life together in five states on the east coast. During their residence in Maryland he became involved with the many wonderful people at The Havre de Grace Maritime Museum and served several years as a Director. He helped set up and served 15 years with passion as a student, an instructor and Director of the Museum’s Chesapeake Wooden Boat Builders School now located at the Upper Bay Museum, North East Md.
Jack and Marjorie retired to their new home in 2005 on the Withlacoochee River in Florida’s Citrus County and enjoyed the time volunteering with friends made at the Crystal River Boat Builders.
Memorial service held Thurs., Jan. 23, 2013 Roberts Funeral Home 19939 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Dunnellon FL at 1:00pm. On Fri. Jan. 24, 2013 interment in the Florida National cemetery, 6502 S.W. 102nd Ave., Bushnell, FL from 1:30pm to 2:00pm.
