John W. Ryals

John W. Ryals, 99, died on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 in Ocala, FL. He was born into this life on November 3, 1926 in Lumberton, MS and was the son to the late Wilson Daniel Ryals and Maggie (Ladner) Ryals. As an educator, John taught school in Michigan, Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, North Carolina, and in Lakeland, Ocala, Cocoa, and St. Petersburg, Florida. John and his late wife, Virginia moved to Dunnellon in 1995 from Clarkrange, TN. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Dunnellon, FL.

He is preceded in Death by his wife, Virginia Ruth (Wright) Ryals; his eldest daughter, Linda Ruth Herbert; his brother, Charles C. Ryals; and his sisters, Mary Autress Walters; and Bennie Joyce Sauls.

Those left to cherish his memories, are his son, John W. Ryals, ll, of Golden Valley, AZ; and his daughter, Constance M. Leggett, of Whitefish, MT; his sisters, Bonnie Jo Durham, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and Shirley A. Herrera, of Ocala, FL; his 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2026 at 5:00 PM at the Dunnellon Seventh Day Adventist Church.
