Joseph "Joe" Anthony Russo

It is with great sadness we announce Joseph “Joe” Anthony Russo, 82, died suddenly on Friday, December 26, 2014 at his residence in Rainbow Springs. Joe was born into this life on March 2, 1932 in New York, NY to the late Anthony and Maria (Francheli) Russo.

Joe and his wife Helen moved to Dunnellon in 2003 from NY.  He was a parishoner at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon attending the 8 AM Mass on Sundays. He was actively involved with Bingo, the Knights of Columbus Council #8510 and the Men’s Club. Joe was also active in the Chamber of Commerce in Dunnellon.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Joe is preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Ann Pennachio.

He is survived by his children, Joseph A. Russo, Jr. and his wife Raquel and Robert A. Russo and his wife Ann; his son in law, Frank Pennachio; his grandchildren, Alexis, Kylie, Stephanie, Shay, Jessica and a host of friends.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon. There will be a Public Viewing held on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 5-8 PM at Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon with a Rosary at 7PM. Inurnment of Joe's cremains will be held at a later date at Forest lawn Cemetery in Matthews, NC.
