Joseph Donald Legere, Jr.

Joseph D. Legere, 78, died at home surrounded by family on May 18, 2025 in Ocala, FL. He was born into this life on December 29, 1946 in Hartford, CT,  and was the son to the late Joseph and Jeanne (Wallen) Legere. Joe was drafted after high school to Vietnam with the United States Navy. After his military service, he met his wife Debra. They lived in Enfield, CT for many years. Joe retired with the United States Post Office and in 2000, he and Debra moved to Ocala, FL. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing and boating. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl Ann Brown and his grandchild, Amanda Gray.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 44yrs., Debra Legere, Ocala, FL; his son, Jeffrey D. Legere and his wife Amber of Stafford Springs, CT; his daughters, Megan Shinn and her husband, Dustin of Ocala, FL, and Andrea Escobar and her husband, Norman of Ocala, FL; his seven grandchildren, Jonathan Gray, Matthew Gray, Andrew Gray, Olivia Shinn, Emily Shinn, Liam Escobar and Ryan Escobar.

A Committal Service with Military honors will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Florida National Cemetery,Bushnell, FL.
