Joseph Smyth

Joseph E. Smyth, 66, died on January 10, 2018 at West Marion Hospital in Ocala, FL. He was the son to the late Edward Francis Smyth and Ellen(Hand) Smyth. Joe was born into this life on October 11, 1951 in Philadelphia, PA. He was a retired Park Manager for the State of Florida. Joe was a member of the Ocala West United Methodist Church and was a US Navy veteran. He enjoyed photography, fishing and traveling. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Cecelia F. Smyth, Ocala; his sons, Patrick Smyth (April), High Springs, FL, Shawn Smyth (Ellen), Lake City, FL; his stepchildren, Wesley Durham (Vicki), Pensacola, FL, Chris Langford, Pensacola, FL, Donna Bidwell, Pensacola, FL, Greg Langford, Palm Springs, CA; his brother, Edward Joseph Smyth (Kathy), Souderton, PA; his grandchildren, Layla, Bryant, Caleb, Joshua, Khari, Linn; his stepgrandchildren, Blake, Shane, Tiffany and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Joe’s family would like to extend their gratefulness and appreciation to the staff at West Marion Hospital for being so caring and supportive over the last few weeks.
Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 2:30 PM at the Ocala West United Methodist Church: 9330 SW 105th St, Ocala, FL 34481.
