Juan Ramón Valdés

Juan Ramón Valdés was born in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba, on November 17, 1930.

He fought  against government oppression on the island, even spending many years as a political prisoner.

In 1980, he and his family were exiled to the United States, where he worked in agriculture until his retirement.

He passed away on August 24, 2022 and will be laid to rest in Gainesville, Florida.

He loved his grandchildren above all, and his favorite things were nature, poetry and Cuba.
