Kris R. Parent

Kris Roger Parent, 52, of Dunnellon, Florida passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with Stage 4 Metastatic Lung Cancer. He fought with determination and grace. Throughout his journey, he displayed incredible courage and unwavering hope. His Faith led him on this difficult journey which he never gave up on. He touched the lives of those around him with his strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit. Despite facing the challenges of his illness, he remained a beacon of hope and inspiration to all who knew him. Throughout his life he embodied kindness and compassion. His selflessness and generosity knew no bounds, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of friends and family alike. His legacy of love will be cherished by all who had the privilege of sharing in his journey.

He was born on April 28, 1973, in Springfield, MA to Kent and Beatrice (Charette) Parent. Kris spent over two decades dedicated to his career as an OTR and Mentor/Diamond Driver, touching countless lives along the way.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Gangaway and her two children: Alison Robb of Jacksonville and Nicholas Robb of Dunnellon.; his parents Kent and Beatrice Parent of Dunnellon; his sister Pammy Parent of Dunnellon; his brother Scott Parent and his wife Amy of Shiremanstown, PA; he also leaves behind 3 beautiful nieces that he loved immensely: Rebekah Patton of Salt Lake City, UT, Kenzie Parent of Shiremanstown, PA and Ardyn Parent of Shiremanstown, PA, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. Kris is also celebrated by his dear friend and brother, Gilbert Sanchez, and his wife, Rhonda.

Kris is being embraced in Heaven by his sister Tammy Marie Charette, his grandparents: Adelard and Catherine Charette as well as Raoul and Jeannette Parent. Also, his Aunt Laurelle Bouchard, Uncle Robert Charette, Uncle Pierre Charette, Uncle Roger Charette, Uncle Cyr Parent, Aunt Mae Clavette, Aunt Joyce Ouellette, and Uncle Dan Kiesman.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 11:00 am at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon. There will be a public viewing on the same day from 8:00 am to 9:45 am at Roberts Funeral Home in Dunnellon. Interment will follow at Dunnellon Memorial Gardens. Followed by a repast at The American Legion, post 58 in Dunnellon at 1:00 pm.
