Larry Marvin Jackson passed away peacefully in his home, in Dunnellon Florida, on December 31st, 2022. Larry was born on October 15th, 1945, to the late Dorothy Ellamae and Robert Paul Jackson. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Larry joined the Air Force on September 2nd, 1965. He placed second out of five thousand applicants for NASA, which earned him a position on a five-man team, working on the Apollo moon missions. Some of the missions included the first man on the moon mission and the heroic Apollo 13 mission.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, and trips to the beach, but his greatest passion was sharing the Word of God with others. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dunnellon and was proud of his work with The Good News Club.
He was preceded in death by wife, Elaine, and son, Robert. He is survived by his sons; Scott (wife Peggy Sue) and David (wife Amy), his sisters; Linda (husband John) and Kristi (husband Robert), his good friend; Sandy, his nine grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
