Laurie Ann (Turza) Shipe

On Wednesday, December 25, 2019, Laurie Ann (Turza) Shipe, loving wife, passed away at age 58.

Laurie was born on March 6, 1961 in Ridgewood, NJ to Albin Turza and Lottie Dixon.  She spent her career working for the USPS in Florida and retired in March of 2018.  On June 14, 2001 she married Glenn Shipe.  They enjoyed life near the beaches on the west coast of Florida until they moved to the country in Dunnellon, FL in January of 2019.  Since her retirement from the USPS, Laurie took on a passion for quilting, nature watching, and kayaking and tubing down the Rainbow River.  She was known for her generosity and selflessness, and her love of animals.

Laurie was preceded in death by her father, Albin, her mother Lottie, and her brother Mark.  She is survived by her husband Glenn, her brother Al and his wife Kathy, three step daughters, Leanna von Merveldt & husband Jason, Morgan Shipe, and Dorothy Whitfield & husband Rob, and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 11:00am at Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon, 19939 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Dunnellon, FL.
