Lora Lee Ghan

Rainbow Springs, Dunnellon- Lora Ghan, 78, died on August 2, 2016 at her residence in Dunnellon. She leaves behind her son, John Ghan and his wife Linda of Downers Grove, IL; her daughter, Susan Kerr and her husband Bill of Wesmont, IL; her sister, Norine Meng of Dunnellon; her five grandchildren, Karen, Laura and Cheryl Kerr, Stefanie and Michael Ghan; her great granddaughter, Kayla Kerr and many nieces and nephews. Lora is preceded in death by her husband, John in 2012.

Lora was born in Chicago, IL on December 13, 1937 to the late Fred and Louise(Vanek) Penzel. Lora grew up in Riverside, IL,  graduated from Riverside-Brookfield High School. She married the late John Ghan on December 14, 1957 and they made their home raising their children in La Grange Park, IL, before moving to Downers Grove, IL.  She retired from the Blistex Company before moving to Florida in 2004. Lora enjoyed playing bridge, reading, going out to eat and watching a good movie. She loved to socialize as she was a member of several bridge clubs, book club and the Dunnellon Women’s club.  She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

A Celebration of Lora’s life will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 5:00 PM at the Dunnellon Women’s Club.
