Lieutenant Colonel, William (Bill) Vernoy Walker passed away peacefully in his Florida home at the age of 87, on July 12, 2015. He was born in Wachula, Florida on July 28th, 1927 to Andrew Jackson and Deloris C. Walker. Bill served his country for 24 years in both the Army Air Corp and the Army. He participated in the Berlin Air Lift was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. As a businessman, he founded Bill Walker Realty in 1969 and enjoyed a very successful career.
He married Aurora N. Vigil and raised his family in El Paso. He is survived by his second wife, Rosa Valenzuela, his two sisters: Anna Martha and Ethel Mae, his children: Frederick X. (Nina) Walker, Sandra R. Walker and Vernoy A. (Linda) Walker, and his grandchildren: Ira, Austin, Ali, Will and Rachel.
A Rosary service will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church, 9025 Diana Dr., El Paso, Texas, 79904, scheduled for 9:45 AM, Friday, August 14, 2015, with internment to follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery at 11AM.
