Lurlie Inez Peacock

Lurlie Inez Peacock, 88, died on May 16, 2025 at her home in Dunnellon, Fl. She was born into this life on August 21,1936 in Grove Hill, Alabama and was the daughter to the late John Wesley Brewer and Myrtie Lee Morgan. Lurlie met her late husband, Malvin, who was the only love of her life for 54yrs., in Mobile, Alabama while he was actively in the military. They married and moved to Homestead, FL where they started to raise their family. She went to beauty school where she learned to cut hair. In 1985, after their children were all grown up and out of the house, they decided to move to Dunnellon where her late husband built their home. Lurlie enjoyed making dolls, quilting by hand, puzzles, gambling, traveling, and talking on CB radios. She was known as “ Mockingbird” to those she spoke to from all around the world. She will forever be remembered for her delicious biscuits and good country cooking.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Malvin Peacock; her daughter, Shela Peacock, and her two brothers Eddie and James Raymond (Bo) and three sisters, Jeanette, Carol and Ann.

Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Becky Mayhew and her husband John of Quincy, Fl; her son, Richard Michael Peacock and his wife Lisa of Dallas, Ga; her daughter, Tammy Rubino and her husband Carl of Stuart, FL.; her brothers, Jerry Brewer and his wife, Janet of Dunnellon, FL, and Bobby Brewer of Dunnellon, FL; her sister Judy Beier and her late husband Karl of Folsom, CA; her seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Dawn, Ashley, Amber, CJ, Christina and Melissa; 12 great grandchildren, Carter, Luke, Reagan, Austin, Haley, Madison, Gage, Ashton, Willow, Siege, Daisy and Luca; and one great great grandchild, Aspen.

Lurlie’s family will be receiving relatives and friends on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 9-10 AM at Roberts Funeral, 19939 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Dunnellon, FL 34432 followed by memorial services starting at 10AM with Inurnment to follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at 12:30 PM.
