Dunnellon, MACEL CHEWNING, 89, went to be with her Heavenly Father, Saturday, February 25, in Dunnellon, FL. She will join her partner in life Gerald K. Chewning, husband of 71 years, who passed before her in 1999. Macel was born in Sutton, WV and moved to Dunnellon in 1989 from Wooster, OH.
Macel was a member of The Riverland Baptist Church in Dunnellon and she enjoyed spending quality time with her family. Her favorite hobbies included quilting, bowling and she had an extensive doll collection.
Survivors include a daughter, Terry (Robert) Smith, Dunnellon, FL; Son, Jerry (Karen) Chewning, Rapid City, SD; Sisters, Gladys Trimble, Dunnellon, FL; Hazel Smalley, Dayton, OH; Brother, Dolph (Evelyn) Smalley, Palm Coast, FL and 6 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 am Wednesday, February 29, at The Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Rex Carringer officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the funeral home and interment will follow in The Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to The Riverland Baptist Church, 19445 SW 61st Street, Dunnellon, FL 34432.
