Margaret Louise (Christoph) Phillips

Margaret "Maggie" L. Phillips, 82, died on January 5, 2025 at Tampa General Hospital in Crystal River, FL. She was born on December 11, 1942 in Providence, Rhode Island and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jesse (McLeod) Christoph. Margaret met her beloved husband, Thomas while he was stationed in Rota, Spain, and later married him in 1962. Following her husband’s military service, they moved back to her husband’s hometown of Wildwood, FL.  Soon after they purchased a home in Fruitland Park, Fl. While living in Fruitland Park, Maggie worked for many years with her husband, Thomas, who co-owned and operated Myers Vending Company. Later, Maggie worked for the Lake County Health Department and for the Citrus County School Board. Margaret was a parishioner of Holy Faith Episcopal Church and a member of the ECW (Episcopal Church Women), was active for many years in the Leesburg Garden Club, and served for many years on the Board of the Leesburg High School Band Boosters. She was an avid gardener who loved nature and enjoyed quilting.

Margaret is now reunited with her husband of 63 years, Thomas, who died on January 3, 2025 and her son Gregory Phillips, who died in 2012.

Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Denise Vogelgesang (Tom), Monticello, FL; her sisters, Kathy Christoph (Jim McLaughlin), Atlanta, GA, Phyllis Landry (Tony Rodriguez), Church Hill, MD, and Susan Landry (Chuck Baier), Manning, SC ; her grandchildren, Danyale Weems, Carrollton, GA, Emily Vogelgesang (Jordan Lewis), Charleston, SC, great grandchildren, Kile Weems (Kyleigh), Carrollton, GA, Koree Weems, Carrollton, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025 at 11:00 am at Holy Faith Episcopal Church, 19924 W. Blue Cove Drive, Dunnellon, FL 34432.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Holy Faith Episcopal Church or the non-profit of your choice.
