Margret Kastien Bartek. Born February 25, 1931 in Witten, Germany. Died peacefully on May 8, 2013 after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimers. She immigrated to the US in 1953. In Ocala she was fondly known as the "peanut lady".
She is survived by her devoted husband, Michael T. Bartek, daughter, Linda Funke Johnson (Steve), step-sons, Michael T. Bartek, Jr., Scott Bartek, daughter in law, Sandra Frater (Art), granddaughters, Kelsey L. Johnson, Dana A. Johnson,step-grandchildren, sister Marianne Welschoff-Kastien, niece Andrea Haase, great nephew Sebastian Haase.
She is predeceased by her parents, August and Wilhelmine Kastien, brother, Gerhardt Kastien, brother in law, Waldemar Welschoff and her beloved son, Manfred Funke.
Margret will be remembered for her generosity of spirit, helping and caring for other people. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 11th, at 2 pm at Roberts Funeral Home, Dunellon, Floria. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice of Marion County. Auf Wiedersehen!
