Maria S. Caraballo

Maria S. Caraballo, 96, of Ocala, FL, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2024, surrounded and comforted by family, at HCA Florida West Marion Hospital in Ocala, FL. Maria was born and raised in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, and was the daughter to the late Angela Millan and Juan Aviño. She graduated High School in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico and later moved to New York as a server at a local union restaurant. There she met, fell for, and later married Luis A. Caraballo, their marriage would last 70 years, and together, they raised three children between Newark, NJ and Puerto Rico. She and Luis moved to Ocala, FL in the late 1990’s to live a simpler life.

She is survived by her husband Luis; her daughter, Linda, and her sons, Luis, Jr. and Marco and her granddaughter, Caroline.

She was the rock on which her family stood. May her loving memories remain in time.

Her funeral will be a private ceremony with only close family members.
