Marianthe Coppedge

Marianthe Coppedge, age 92, of Dunnellon passed away on November 13, 2012 at the Hampton Manor West. She is the wife of the late Dan Coppedge; sister of Eugenia (Steve) Stefanou of Miami,FL and aunt of Nicholas Stefanou.

She was born in Greece in 1920; attended elementary school in Oneco, and graduated from Bradenton High School, Manatee County, before moving to Dunnellon in 1944. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Florida State University and did advanced graduate work at University of Florida. She worked as a teacher at Dunnellon High School for 40 years where she taught business education and photography as well as adult evening classes for CFCC. She was the mayor of Dunnellon in 1987- 1988, and served on city council for 10 years. She was active in the county-wide youth program. She also served on the Marion County Vocation Advisory Committee, Dunnellon Zoning Board and was a volunteer police dispatcher.

Visitation is Thursday 6:00-7:30 PM at Roberts Funeral Home with a funeral service at Holy Faith Episcopal Church in Dunnellon Friday at 10:00 AM with interment following at Dunnellon Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be left at RobertsofDunnellon.com
